UPDATE

God came through again and we had another great year. The year started out with a huge challenge when we lost three teachers in January and February. Our staff held it together and proved that with God's help, anything is possible.

The following pictures are from this year's closing ceremony last week. It was well attended. The students did a great job signing two songs. As always, it was sad to see them all leave for their "summer" break. Hopefully, we will see them all return next year.

Melki works full time for the ministry and somehow squeezes time in for extra schooling. He is currently enrolled in our PRONEA program. This is similar to the GED program in the States. The student can work hard and receive their diploma for either Primary, Secondary or High School.

It's always good to see the Deaf community coming to church. Last Sunday was our "Fellowship Sunday" and Jeanette made her famous Quiche. It's a favorite around here. The teaching was on the Fruit of the Spirit.

HELP NEEDED

The ministry needs your help. We have openings for the following positions, teacher, housekeeping and maintenance. As I said earlier, we lost three teachers at the beginning of the year. Do you feel called to teach the Deaf of Guatemala? We can train you. Two weeks ago we lost our housekeeper. It's been raining several inches almost every day and the weeds and grass are getting out of control. There are always maintenance issues with facilities that are used as much as these. Do you feel called to come down and help with either housekeeping or maintenance?

We said that this update would be brief and it is past being brief, our apologies. Please pray and consider what you can do to minister to the Deaf community here in Guatemala. There is so much that we can and want to do but it takes staff, personnel and funds to keep going.

God bless you all. Have a great weekend.

In His service,

Greg and Jeanette Summerville
