"...For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:19-21
We believe that God has no lack or need, and that the whole world and all its fullness is His, and is at His disposal. Psalm 50:10 says "For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills." He does not need our resources, as all is His, but we believe that He desires to build our faith in His provision and ability to provide for His people. He asks us to respond to His faithfulness by giving our resources back to Him to see what better, far-reaching, and soul-saving things He can do with them! (see 2 Chronicles 31:4-10, Malachi 3:10)
We deeply believe how we give and how our resources are used is the testing and proof of our faith, and is a powerful tool to teach us submission to Christ. As we let go of possessions that keep us tied to the world spiritually, we receive the opportunity to watch His kingdom grow in our hearts and all around us. He brings the increase! (see Matthew 25)
Matthew 19:20-21
The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
