Dear Calvary Chapel Churches,
I’m certain that you, like most of the world, are aware of the devastating destruction and ongoing struggle faced by many people due to the Southern California fires.
Here is a list of several Calvary Chapel churches that have already been actively involved in ways they can assist during this challenging time. They are all doing great work if you are looking for ways to help.
In Him, Don McClure
Calvary Chapel Monrovia / Calvary Disaster Relief Greetings from Calvary Chapel Monrovia. We want to share how Calvary Chapel Monrovia is being used by the Lord during the wildfire devastation in the Eaton Canyon area. We have partnered with Calvary Disaster Relief and Blue Tape Ministry in this effort. Teams of volunteers, alongside Pastors and Chaplains, take burritos, water, and most importantly prayer and the word of God to the community and first responders. Teams also visit hotels in the area and provide food and essential items to families that have been displaced.
We are thankful for all the donations that have been received so far, but we have ceased receiving physical donations as of Saturday, January 18th. We need volunteers to assist with the distribution of items in our warehouse. For more information, please contact Pastor Angel Baez at (951) 422-8069 or email: pastorangel@ccmonrovia.org and/or Jeff Peters at (626) 841-2033.
Though we are not open to physical donations, we have made relationships with other organizations that we can point you to. Please contact Pastor Angel Baez at (951) 422-8069 or email: pastorangel@ccmonrovia.org and/or Jeff Peters at (626) 841-2033 for more information. Core Church Disaster Relief 2025: Pastor Steve Wilburn https://www.corechurchla.org/
Our Church: We are Core Church Calvary Chapel Los Angeles = We were established on June 13th 2010 on the West side of Los Angeles. We are a Bible teaching Church that teaches the Truth of God’s Word without compromise. See our statement of faith at Corechurchla.org
Our Location: We are on, what’s known as the “Westside of LA”. Who would have thought that our Church would be just a couple of miles from Ground Zero of the worst Natural Disaster in American History? We are at the Intersection of the 10Fwy (Which cuts through the center of LA) and LaCienega Blvd (The busiest North and South St of LA) It runs from LAX to Hollywood. Our address is 2037 S LaCienega Blvd
Our mailing address is PO Box 34789 Los Angeles. CA. 90034
Our Goal: Is to stand in the Gap for the thousands of displaced families affected by this horrendous fire. With physical help, by supplying all the much needed everyday goods that people need. And most importantly, providing a clear message of the Gospel with free Bibles.
Our Approach: First of all = We recognize that God has placed us here, near Ground Zero for such a time as this. But not just for the immediate needs which are endless at this point. But for the long haul. We also recognize that this is not just meeting the obvious physical needs, but also the spiritual needs of every person. Jesus said in Matt 16:26 ``For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?
Partners: We will be working with a very established and competent group of Los Angeles Police Department of Chaplains’. Not only am I the Senior Pastor of Core Church but I have had the great blessing of serving and being part of the LAPD Chaplains. These are a professionally trained group of men and women who are trained as first responders. Core Church has been a place of many training programs for the surrounding cities to meet at including other municipalities including Fire and rescue resources. We are currently looking for space to store the many resources that are coming our way.
Immediate needs: We need everything. All toiletries – Water – Clothing and so on. But the needs will change as this process will take years to recover. So we are asking for finances so that people are not going to stores and buying $4 tubes of toothpaste, we want to be able to buy all these needs by the pallet in large quantities and save finances for the many things that will be needed. We have set up a separate account to meet these needs so that every penny will be strictly accounted for – And every penny will be spent on the victims of this fire. All accounting costs and overhead will be absorbed by Core Church, the staff, and the hundreds of volunteers that make up the Body of Christ. All tax-deductible donations can be made at Corechurchla.org Click on Disaster Relief on our front page. Thank you for your prayers, May God Bless you.
